200tdi radiator hmm

Ello all,
After a good half hour drive the bottom radiator hose is near enough the same temp as the hot top hose. The rad is all clear on the outside and hosed it through the other day. Would this suggest the rad is blocked up on the inside?
I'm running a kenlowe elecy fan on it now and still the same so should I back flush the rad through and see if it makes any differance or just chuck in another rad I've got sat in me shed?

ive had the same, thought mine was clear of mud after hosing but it wasnt until i took the rad off it was apparent it was still clogged up,
it the took 30mins with a jet wash before water could freely pass from one side of the rad to the other, it was mainly behind the winch that was clogged

The rad is clear and can see nicely through it. Thinking it must be clogged up inside? Flush it through from bottom hose out?

Temp gauge sits happy on half though so is it normal for the bottom hose to be warm/hot aswell?

bottom hose should be hot not as hot as top ,feel rad over core surface when hoses are hot it needs to be hot all over

Yes it was hot all over so don't think it's majorly blocked if at all, still worth a flush through James?
As said the temp gauge sits on half and doesn't move any higher normaly.
I just didn't think the bottom hose should be warm/ hot aswell lol but clearly I'm a numpty and learning new things about me wagon! :tea:

if rad core is hot all over and you can see through fins all over its working as it should ,and the only thing it may need is some more air through rad ,coolant should be hot with rad taking out excess

Bit of an update, just been out in it today and checked it again as temp gauge was just above half normaly sits on half,

The top 1/3 of the rad is cool to touch where as the lower 2/3 is very hot can't touch it for more than few seconds.

Pop a new rad in then?

Not back flushed it matey, Is it worth doing that before swapping one over then? I've got another rad hidden away somwhere so only take few mins to change.

To be honest taking it out and back flushing it would take just as long as fitting the new one. Swap it over IMO, check your thermostat whilst at it in case it has randomly failed

fit the new one, but keep the old one as a spare, back flush it at your leisure then you've got a known good spare too.

used to do that flush then back flush half a dozen times on my older cars heaters once upon a time, the river of brown mud coming out was amazing.

the new found heat was welcoming also..

always worth fitting reducers from rad hose to hosepipe to your rad to do the flush then reverse flush too, so that the water pressure has more of a push to it..
