remove the sender unit (located under plate of boot floor) and syphon out that way.

cheers stig your worth your wieght in gold to me at the mo. will be in touch over the power steering pump as soon as i have solved this.
thanks.

just replaced it with a spare i had here thanks, she idled rough yesterday and today wouldnt idle at all, released the sediment tank only to be shocked by about a centimeter of sand and grit and particles of water sitting on the surface of the fuel. can you recomend anything to flush it through once i have drained the tank and replaced it with some good "off the pump" diesiel barry?

The sediment catcher should have stopped the sand/grit as it is designed to do. Best change your filter as it will have water in it and put some diesel addiditive in it (Forte/Castrol/Wynns etc). Watch out now for a lot of smoke if you are going back onto pure diesel as your piston rings will have got used to running on the kero if you have not been running it with oil.

also should there have been a filter in the sediment bowl as mine didnt have on only a rubber o ring seal. finding this made me realise i had no fuel cap when i wondered how the hell it got in there in the first place.

cheers for confirming that. am i looking for this black smoke just when i first start using the derv or is it gonna be a constant thing do you think?
