yes basic block ,pistons ,head ,rocker cover etc are the same,so disco engine makes a good source to repair worn out defender tdi as disco tdi is alot cheaper and more widly avaiable
cheers for clearing that up.
One thing I was noticing is that the 1st gear can be quite hard to find sometimes end up either going in reverse or 3rd is it just a cas of getting the hand of it and this being quite notmal or is this a potential selector problem or something?
