200tdi headlight issues

or should that be lack of headlights
Switch from side lights to headlights and can hear the relay (drivers side) click but the headlights do not switch on. Swapped bulbs around and even tried new bulbs but still no headlights, also got no full beam (but never had this since i bought it although when switching full beam on the headlights do switch off)
Any ideas?
I'm at the in-laws with very limited tools and without my manual :doh:

My 300 tdi failed mot due to failed headlights, main beam and full beam, when I got it home and whacked it they worked. Loose connection on the back of the headlight and a bit of muddy muck due to laning. Cleaned up and no worries.
