200tdi front prop questions

Hopefully simples
Car new to me front prop fitted is to short splines sticking out by approx 2 inchs.
Front prop listed as FRC8390 nearly 80 quid.
Also listed is wide flange front prop FRC5566 which is 55 pounds much more palatable.
But im unsure of the length of the FRC5566 anyone know?
Mine is approx 70cms betweens flanges.
Car is 1993 200tdi

What makes you think it is too short and that 2" is excessive?

I had the same problem with mine, and have to admit that I thought the splines sticking out that far wasn't good, so now it's a mixture of defender and disco props, making it the right length "in my opinion"

earlier prop will be same lenght but has a different uj which is slightly bigger but prop flanges are same size and bolt on exactly the same the prop length is the same on all 90/110 and defenders with lt77 gear box v8 and 300tdi share shorter prop about 2 inches it may be what you mention parts can easily get mixed up now as not many counter staff know what their talking about like old fashioned store men

Mad Hat Man any prop splines sticking out the end of the slider is wrong hence my question.
