Hi there,
I am new here and hope someone can help me. At the moment I'm building up my 109 with a 200Di.
There is a lot to find about 200(T)di engine swap. Bud I find it hard to make all the connections so decided to make a document about it which perhaps can help others to.
Best Regards,
Arjan

That’s very useful, thanks for sharing , can you put it on as word or excel and I can help fill in some of the blanks
Have you removed the oil thermostat ( not rod if no oil cooler fitted)

On mine
Fuel lift pump front connection 11 from tank rear connection 10 to side of fuel filter.
top of filter to fuel injection pump front connection 07
03 spill line tee to banjo on rear of fuel injection pump which also goes direct back to fuel tank

Are you allowed to fit a turbo in the Netherlands? A Di will make no more power than the old 2.5Nad pretty much, only likely to make more noise. As the direct injection is less refined and makes the engine louder than the indirect type.

As a DI it will be fine.....had a 200di in mine for over 10 years....its a SWB 88"....on a run close on 40mpg.....pulls like a train on 3.5 diffs....205x16 tyres.

Un like glencoyne I modified my battery carrier so I could keep my battery under the bonnet....along side the oil bath air filter.

Please ask if you req anymore advice....the was a very good thread here some years ago....will see if I can find it.

Nick.

Over geared and under powered. It most certainly will not be pulling like a train. Unless you are comparing to a train parked up in a siding….

Not knocking your vehicle. But let’s keep a little perspective.

Maybe I left the turbo on and didn't notice.

Lets put it this way....it had a 2.25d with std lower ratio diffs and an over drive.....it now has a 200di.....high ratio diffs....sold the over drive as it no longer needed.

Been in my LR 10 year plus....great....goes like a train....I suppose some people used to drives BMWs ect would say its over geared and gutless.

But I dont drive high powered BMWs.....to me its great.....had the same LR going on 50 year....so sort of got to know it just a bit.
