And we're back

newest little issue is droning from the near side front which sounds like the wheel bearing this is in addition to a lot of brake pad squeal from the of side front on right hand bends which having given that side a good clean from brake dust and given its a new caliper this is also pointing to a knackered bearing from previous experience that combines with a drone and vibes at 50 mph where the noise seems to synchronise

some minor knocks from the suspension that will need looking at have reared their head, worst is from the rears bushes dont look too bad and there's no play with a crow bar so could just be roll bar bushes which i understand are no longer fitted and you can get a sleeve of some sort to aid the bushes.

Parking sensors have an intermittent issue of giving the long solid beep so I think one sensor is duff

besides this all's going fine 28.6 mpg on its daily commute

with being furlough'd there hasn't been much chance to get out and about in the disco, I have replaced the original battery with one with a 5 year guarantee, new tyres fitted to the rear and the best of the 4 put on the front along with front wheel alignment so at least it now longer trie to throw me in the hedge now

bearings also sorted for just over £300 fitted IIRC so silent running has resumed.

the aldi trips seem to have become slightly longer during lock down and seem to now include brief runs up some local green lanes, dunno how that happened

Long story short, furloughed, decided to hand my notice in at old job and have jumped ship to another insurer closer to home hence the lack of updates.

to update in all seriousness we've had some issues...

Electric handbrake stuck on on the disco so had to pull the release cable under the centre console, then the whole debacle started, phoned warranty company who came and collected the car, garage spent 4 days diagnosing the problem which i already new was a knackered actuator, spent another 2 days doing nothing while they phone the warranty company back who then rang me o say its not covered under your policy ( but a normal handbrake lever is ) so on your bike sunshine so the end result is £943.17 bill for a full handbrake system rebuild and reset

other little issues we've had was a full suspension system wobbly including dropping height at speed with the dash lit up like a christmas tree with gearbox fault restricted gears in big letters and all because the off side reversing light bulb had blown

Seems to have developed a habit for occasional smoking on start up, can happen once in 20 times and not do it the rest of the time, suspect a dribbly injector over anything more serious will run some injector cleaner through it and see what occurs.


In better news bought a dog guard off facebook for £50 guardsman brand, not a perfect fit as brackets are a few mm out but it fits securely and does its job.
