2006 discovery 3 hand brake yellow light

The yellow light will not go out even tho when I release the brake the red light goes out checked brake fluid pulled off the switch but it's still on any ideas cheers

With engine off but ignition on, how long does the handbrake take to apply?
When was the handbrake last serviced/shecked/adjusted?
