2005, Td4 20 diesel auto, M47 engine

hi , help please, i had the F 4 flashing and my mechanic changed the ATF and the Low clutch timing solenoid.After a few miles the engine malfunction light came on and off several times ,and i noticed that the temperature is not reaching to the middle as it was supposed to do but stays playing just below.When reaches in the middle the light is off but when the needle drop below starts on and off again.
When the light its on the engine doesn't pull ,what could happen because this problem wasn't there before. I had it back to the mechanic who checked it with diagnostic and he told me that the problem is the fuel pressure regulator and has nothing to do with the job at the gearbox, its a new problem.

sounds very similar to what I had - low fuel pressure. In my case a complete service with all filters and a new fuel pump fixed the lot.

Hi, thanks for the reply, the car had a complete service with all filters, recently, only 3000 miles since.but i will consider the fuel pump.

It might be several things. My garage replaced everything in sight which considering the car was just purchased second hand with an uncertain service history, was expensive, but reassuring!

Not is much pre-loved as pre-abused.

A good specialist will be able to measure fuel pressure at various places and check the sensors out.
