2005 freelander temp warning light

can anyone help plz, tempreture gauge moves up to middle norm position..
then shoots right up to max and red light comes on,this happened when i was driving on moterway at seventy.drove car later on kept speed to 55 and light didnt appear..forgot to mention fans are on and no loss of coolant..i am a newbie and ur help would be appreciated,as being disabled i depend on my car...thanx

very sorry my car engine is 1800cc...as i said in message i am a newbie..site posted it auto..didn;t no i had entered the gaylander chat...i.e. village people...dont take offence to me cause i prefer women...but even i thought...gays like yourself would at least be civil ...jimmy from glasgow.

so did you want help or not ? giving it charlie big potatoes on your 2nd post, and then slagging of other members is unlikely to lead to a great response is it now ?

for what it's worth , if you're genuine, maybe looking at HGF, esp as it's 1.8

switched back on ...gauge sittin normal....revved engine for while and gauge didnt move

when we say gaylander section we mean the freelander section, thats where you would be better posting your questions
thats where all the freelander problems are sorted out

that doesnt sound like a mechanical prob - more like a system malfunction. Yu mite be lucky.
