Evening!
I posted about this before, but the symptoms have changed and just wanted some input before I bite the bullet and try a replacement amp!
A while ago I noticed the speakers in my right hand doors weren't working. Centre speaker, subwoofer and left hand speakers are working fine. I noticed there was some corrosion on the plugs in the boot, so I cleaned these up with some WD40 and all the speakers worked again!
Great!
Next time I drove the car I noticed the right hand speakers cut out after2-3 minutes of driving. And now the rest of the speakers cut out after 5-10 minutes. If I turn the head unit on and off, the left hand speakers will work again, temporarily.
I'm not sure what to make of it. I've stripped the connectors down and they all look clean enough. I've been over them all again with proper electrical contact cleaner.
Also, for what it's worth, one time I had sound coming out drivers front, and passenger rear. it went bac kto the usual 'right side cuts out after 2 minutes, left side cuts out after 10 minutes' after I disconnected and reconnected all the connections in the boot.
With my limited knowledge of electronics, this to me sounds like increased resistance in the wiring causing the amp to go into safe mode, but I really would appreciate a second opinion!
Thanks in advance,
Olie
