Hi..I have a range rover as above from a costumer the suspension had dropped in the rear and had a warning "suspension inactive" so i agreed to plug it into my diagnostic machine(autoboss v30)

I reset the ecu and the fault went out i could ajust the height for an hour or so but when id try lift the suspension later on the "high level light keeps flashing" and the jeep doesnt lift anymore but the jeep has now sunk and wont rise...I can hear the compressor running when i try to lift it but now the front and rear are down and they arent coming up and all fault codes are cleared.....

On the computer i can see all the valves are closed(unless i try lift) compressor starts (temp on compressor is good aroung 50 degrees) and the pressure is 650 i think voltage sensors on the wheels are reading ok so really what else can i check ??The guy just wants it raised enough so he can drive it temp for a few days but now I cant lift it at all.....what can I do

1.the bags ? soapy water
2.Valves? where ?
3.Is the compressor building enough pressure ? im not sure of the pressure values needed to work correctly?

Is it possible to raise the suspension in anyway ?? or am I snookered

Never heard of an Autoboss so can't comment on whether you're seeing and clearing all the faults.

The pressure is WHAT? about 150psi is normal for a Rangie.

If you are totally stuck and only want a temporary solution you could 'T' into the pipe to each airbag and inflate them separately with an airline. It's also another way of finding a leak on an individual bag.

Oh, you have checked that all the doors and tailgate are closed whilst you're working?
 
Of course if you'd put a location into your details you might find someone close to you who might be willing to help, then you could split your fee in cash at the same time.
 
autoboss v3 not a very good system to use on a l322!
seen to many people try to corrupt the height reading to lower them and damage the ecu!
what was the original fault? to much energy to rear or front?
comp fubar new unit
 
Am I the only one who is concerned that garages/mechanics are taking on work that they have no idea about on vehicles which they aren't trained?!

Fair play that this bloke is coming and looking for an answer, trying to help his customer. But why take on the job in the first place?!

the orignal fault was "64 Distortion plausibilty" that was the only thing it did read up......no proper fault code....but is it not strange that it wont lift back up as now there are not faults on the system
 
Ok I drove it to town today and left it ticking over for 15 mins in the "Park position" and had the "off road"(up) level selected on the suspension dial it was flashing when I came back out it had lifted into a normal position !!! Drove it around for 30 mins and it displayed "Suspension Inactive" and it dropped again.....So its unlightly the ecu is corrupt I would think ??

I would trust the independent LR specialists (Greenbank 4X4) with my children's lives.

However, with almost every other garage I have ever used for other vehicles, they have invariably come back in a worse state than they went in.

If I had the time, garage space and specialist equipment, I would do most maintenance and repairs myself.

No offense scartplug, I'm sure your a jolly decent chap!

Since we're on the subject...don't get me started with PLUMBERS!
 
Hi Lads. Ok Ive eventually got to the problem the bags in the rear are shot and are leaking front bags are holding pressure.

So using my diagnostic machine I set the ride height(motorway for the jeep) the front bags generally stay full all the time so the compressor only needs to build up the rear although this is hard on the compressor the jeep lifts the rear slowly until the costumer replaces the rear bags.......Thanks for all the help :)
