2003 Range Rover HSE - Trans Failsafe Prog
Im driving a 2003 range rover.Ok although it might have been asked before I can seem to find a answer.
Here's my problem... My truck starts up and I can move the shifter with no problem but for some reason my truck won't move at all,in drive there's nothing and reverse same thing. When I'm selecting the gears and then try to put it back into park I get a grinding noise. There's no check engine light on or anything. I test my battery it's 100% alternator is good. All the fuse seem to be working I checked it with the test light I'm at a lost please help...oh BTW my mountain(I think it's the lo range symbol) symbol light is on also it flashing instead of a steady light. Also While the truck is in park with the hand brake on it does not role when I release the hand brake it roles forward and back

Search and you will find torque converter goes and kills gearbox, you may be lucky-but don't count on it diesels more prone than v8

The Transfer Box is stuck in neutral I would have thought...

The flashing Lo Range Mountain symbol is telling you there is a problem with the Transfer Box Shift Motor....

Transfer Motors are fitted with a switch pack which fails such that the Transfer Box doesn't know which ratio it is in....

That being said make sure there is NO fuse in slot number 37 in the Glove Box Fuse Box....

This fuse is used to force the Transfer Box into Neutral for being able to tow the vehicle with all 4 wheels on the ground....

If there is a Fuse Remove It....if there isn't it could be your Transfer Box Shift motor or switch pack at fault it would be time for Diagnostics to find out the cause....

Put your location down in your profile, there maybe someone local with the Diagnostic gear to help!
