Hi All

I'm sorry to say that after reading this forum for months I finally register to report my Landy stolen.

Reg IKZ4146

Its a 2002 90 TD5 in commercial in blue, white roof. It was taken from the bottom of my garden sometime over the weekend, in West Horndon Brentwood Essex. :(

It has a few battle scars on the body work, a side step only on the passenger side, Free Style wheels and a strip of black tape over the hole left for the spare wheel carrier on the bonnet.

The police have been informed, but I know they can't do anything unless it lands in their lap, I know have the fun of the insurance company telling me it was only worth £50 and because I wasn't in the vehicle at the time it's invalid!!!

To be honest, I know it's either in bits on Ebay on in a ship on it's way to Africa.

The hardest part is not the fact that I've lost my pride and joy, or the fact I've spent a small fortune on it to make it really nice, but the fact that all my tools were in it so as of now I can't work, so I can't earn any money.

I'm not a horrible man, but I hope a plague of Locus decend on their houses!!!!

If you do see or know anything please let me know or contact Essex police.

Peter

I hope it turns up for you mate, I have a neighbor in the police who says 4x4's are being stolen of late to nick copper wire from in or underground when he was called out the other week the landy was just sitting there ticking over as the criminals (scumbags) had given up and ran off without their loot but it was linked up to the rear tow bar. So fingers crossed for a safe return.

Hi

The security is normally the vehicle is blocked in at the rear of my garden.
Plus a good wheel lock on the steering wheel.

I believe it was driven away and not pushed.

I don't hold up any hope, the latest theory is that it was stolen for spares at the up coming Spares Show.

Was it a disc lock? or some other brand steering lock. Would you mind saying what brand it was

Thanks every body.

I'm absolutely gutted, it's taken a few hours to sink in but it's hit me now and I'm really f#+k!€ off.

Thor1950, it was a diskloc unit.

I'm beginning to think a Disklok isn't much use - too many reports of them being defeated. We all know how easily they are removed, so time to move to something else methinks.

Need a clutch, brake, throttle lock box. But from the test Disklok is the best steering wheel lock out there. You can never stop them just slow them down or make it so they go to a easier target

Oh man. Certainly feel for you. My pride and joy (h392ayp) was stolen end of March. I know what happened to it - part used to make a ringer being sold on ebay (one does recognise ones own mud panel dash etc). The rest was 'stashed' in woodland. I say stashed as when i found the chassis and axles, somepanels were stacked.
The Police acted on my and another persons evidence - vehicles siezed and parts and arrest made.. Court case due shortly.
I have only today got my agreed value from the insurance. Having offered stupid low before.
That covers the vehicle. But like you....tools,ropes,history and sentimental stuff is gone and not replaceable really. Like how can u put a value on tools you have owned since yer teens etc?
If you can id any of your motor - keep an eye out and tell others. I was actually down the Newbury 4x4 jumble when I got a call from a wonderful lady who had found my remains in the woods. I obviously need not have gone to Newbury....but i am glad i did.

Seriously hope you have some good luck. They say car crime isnt personal???? - well i for one want to make it so!!

Really feel for you mate, it's the same year & colour as mine.

Seems as if these disc locks are too easily defeated now.

I hope something good works out for you.

Cheers

Sox

I'll keep my eye out.....
Having had my Roof-tent stolen last month, I hope the scumbags stay alive for years.......in great pain.

Hi all

Still no luck with my car the police have been good though.

They raided a couple of local travellers sites and found a few stolen vehicles and land rovers, all of which were being broken to be shipped abroad.

The police are confident that my car was broken within days and stashed in a container.

So I would like to call on all my guardian angles and send a plague to those responsible!!

Ok I might be hung as a witch but who cares!

I agree with the comment, that any security is better than none! My old disk lock was the yellow one, I bought a new one and its much better also I got a slightly bigger one so it slides around te steering wheel apparently making it harder to force off.

Getting a tracker too, on my new one so I can hound them if they do it again and deal with it my way!!!:D

Keep them safe.
