2002 TD4 Cutting Out!! Any Advice?

Hi All

New to the forum and to Landrovers! Have a prob with my 2002 TD4, started it this morning and let it run for about 10 mins then it cut out, tried to restart it with no luck. Went back to it about 4 hours later and it eventually started, took it for a drive got about 2 miles up the road and it cut out on me again with no warning? Got it started with Easy Start but lasted about 2mins!!

Has plenty fuel and the pump seems to be working?

Any advice would be appreciated it's driving me mad!

Would have to think intermittent fuel pump, seems to be popular fault at mo. Mine was in tank, under bonnet was fine.

There are two fuel pumps one in the tank and one in the engine bay, think its quite common for one to fail. Could also be an injector fault

try a new cam sensor.....

Personaly, ah'd get rid and and buy a deepender

My 2001 TD4 has a pump in the tank and one on the N/S inner wing.. I tested by disconnecting the tank pump power plug.. The car started and drove fine!

cam sensor fault will only stop it from starting when warm/hot. wont cause it to cut out.

Yes very true,,, sorry didnt read the fault properly.....not cam sensor fault.

Changed the tank pump and stuck a new engine breather filter in, running great now.
