i have changed the filtre it is still smoking though any more idears there was some oil by the air casing that you have to take off (the big plastic one) to get to theinjectors?? any more idears thanks

Just to clear up a point here, if your smoke is black it is not oil related. Burning oil in an engine will produce blue smoke. If your smoke is definately black then there is a combustion problem where the fuel is not burning completely causing partialy burnt fuel to be emmited in the exhaust. This could be due to many faults ie, blocked air filter or restricted air flow (not enough air to burn all the fuel injected) faulty injector timing, faulty injector pump, dirty (carboned up) engine/exhaust, engine overloaded, incorrect valve timing, damaged valves/seats. This list is not exhaustive, can be caused by anything that will effect combustion.
