OK Chaps.

Who has had this?

I start the car, put it in reverse and lift the clutch pedals and start to move backwards.

It 'feels' like the hand brake is still on (it isn't) or maybe another break component, but they have been serviced and are ok.

To add more details. As I start to move backwards and I feel resistance; if I were to drop the clutch the car rocks to a stop; as if there were something under the wheels (there isn't).

I don't notice it the same in 1st; it normally happens first thing (i.e. when first using the car.)

It doesn't burn or impede the car as I go on my way.

What the hell is it?

Thanks for your time.

M.

No - The VCU IS totally screwed and might already have damaged other parts of the drive train. Quickest (temporary) fix is remove a propshaft. Then get it replaced at yo convenience.

Call them tomoz - they will fit as well - tell them yu are a member on here and he will help you.

Bell are miles away though; I can't exactly get there...
But I'll call none the less :)

My local chap knows the car pretty good.
Symptoms aren't every time I use it. But noticeable when it does.

I just hope I haven't fricked any other part of the car. :(

I'm on here when I get issues.
Luckily, not often.

Though my D3 flooded the other day; for a second time because the drain design of the sunroof is crap. :)

Drum brake was locked on.
Badly.

Had the whole system checked, re-greased and DRIVE CHAIN is fine :)

£60 bill

Nice.

Thanks guys.....

Was the person who serviced the brakes the same one that just charged you £60 for fixing them?

Good to see you got it sorted.

If your not sure of the state of your vcu you could test it as below.

Good point. I'll double check when they were last looked at. In my mind it was 6 months ago....

(No not the same)

:)

They did test the drive chain, said all was good.

Not sure what the 'test' is for the VCU...

I'll ask them.
