Depends on age of car. The old ones have a separate earth wire which if not clipped in place can foul the window mechanism and break inside. No earthy, no worky.

Battery blowing up is not good i only had a little spark from the alternator wire while changing regulator and it took out the engine ecu
so god only knows what what a blown battery would do
