Eh! Surely that's just earthing to the same lump of metal? You need to go starter bolt to batt neg or to main body earth to batt neg

Erm. I may be misreading you, but if you've put you're new cable from starter to tbox you haven't replaced anything, it's very unlikely the problem lies in that lump of metal. If its a bad earth it'll be one of the original cables, ie the one from the tf box to chassis/battery?

stater is perfectly well earthed through its casing to flywheel housing and needs no seperate earth ,although as said above engine gearbox and transfer box need earthing well to chassis and body

put New earth strap engine to chassis batt neg to body tf to starter is just a back up had 1 left

well wot ether ive done its still starting ok lol unless there wos some **** in starter and giving its a wack disloged its self god knowsAh. Makes more sense
