2000 Freelander 1 Di

Where to begin , while driving it 9 times out of 10 it won't rev past 3000 rpm it's like hitting a wall any ideas , all I have found is solutions to do with the td4 engine but not the Di ?

Today I took the Freelander out , worked perfect untill it warmed up , hit 3000 rpm but I kept my foot down today and it eventually pushed passed it

Have you checked the boost pipes for splits and loose clips?

I will have a check over today and see if o can find anything

Fuel filter is a good place to start

Changed a couple of weeks ago but no difference

It's not unheard of for the cat to clog on the L series.

I've ordered a decat pipe as soon as it's fitted I will see if it's fixed

Its a simple diesel, no electronics to cause this problem. Any smoke at any time? When it wont rev, is it just when driving or stationary too?

At a stand still it will rev past 3000 , this morning while driving it was fine while cold but after a while it began to choke n jump like a kangaroo ... This time I kept my foot down and power threw , no smoke

Long shot...fuel tank vent? Probably the cap on these

Where would I be looking for that ?

Today I took it for a drive , while still cold it had no problems at it went past 3000 rpm no problem
However after 5/10 minutes when it had warmed up it was the same , jirking around as soon as it hit 3000 rpm

Also just to help I have done the edge blank mod , I'm just wondering if I have done it right tho ?

Also prior to this I had a fuel leak , one of the return pipes had split , replaced it and the leak had stopped

There is no vent on my cap
