Hi,
Ive recently converted my 110 2.5td to a 200 tdi defender engine, it will turn over but i cant get it to run.

I thought it might be air in the fuel system and i have bled the system from the banjo on top of the fuel filter, and from the injectors but this hasn't solved it.

I have replaced the glow plugs, i used the wire from the old 2.5td which attached to the glow plug nearest the bulkhead instead of using a self timing relay from the 200tdi.

Any ideas on what the cause of this may be would be great

Cheers,

I've just taken a look and there are no wires to the fuel stop solenoid, would this normally come from the ignition switch?

yes. It would come from the second switch position. At least you know why it's not starting.;)

To test it out temporarily, just take a feed direct from the battery to the solenoid.

Cheers Ratty, its now sorted i was just about to run a wire from the battery as suggested when i spotted a white wire caked in crap just behind the injection pump, put a spade connector on and connected it to the fuel stop solenoid and she fired up :D thanks for your help with this one
