I have recently noticed the fan wobbling slightly and thought it might be an idea to replace the water pump before any serious damage sets in, there doesn't seem to be any leaking as yet.
Anyway to cut a long story short, I've bought the new pump and was wondering how much time to put aside to fit it.

Any ideas?

It's just that I'd like to know if I can get it done monday morning, cos I don't have to leave for work till midday.
Or if it's going to take any longer should I do it on Sunday.
Monday would be better because i can use my mates garage and his extensive collection of tools.

Hi,
Just changed the water pump on my 90 200TDI and I managed to replace it in a morning just make sure you have everything to hand and start early also allow time to run and bleed the system up to temp, the right tools at hand is also a great help fan spanner ect and using your mates garage sounds a good idea if you can do it in the dry best of luck .
BIG D.

Thanks for that BIG D looks like it might be a Sunday morning job then.
I'd be looking at about 3 available hours on monday, bit of a squeeze perhaps?

Yeah right it's now sunday lunch and the job is done (started 09.00 finished 12.00)
Took it for a spin system seems fine, checked all hoses for leaks, temp etc so far so good.
just like to say thanks for all the advice.
