200 TDi stainless exhausts

My exhaust is heading towards needing to be replaced and I was looking into stainless systems. Several companies do pipe systems that replace the mid silencer with just a pipe.
Does anyone have experience of these?
Whats to be gained and does it affect the emissions for the MOT?

I have seen some of the custom exhausts for land rovers hes made very nice jobs too,when the disco needs doing mines going to him.Hope this helps
