200 tdi auto box problems

Hi all, I have a 'M' reg 200 tdi Automatic Landy with a problem with the automatic gear change. When the engine is cold the gearbox will not change out of 1st gear until the engine temp gets somewhere near normal running temp then it will go through the gears as it should. I believe the fluid level in the box is ok but this problem is really starting to annoy me as I have to drive approx 2 miles until the gearbox starts working as it should . Please , Please can someone point me in the right direction to sort out the problem as I am really getting brassed off with the sodding thing .:hysterically_laughi

Try an oil change see how it goes.

I had the same on me v8.... total g/box failure within 2 weeks.

if thats its only fault ,it will be govenor in rear housing of auto box removing transfer box and rear housing off auto box allows you to remove ,clean and replace or replace without disturbing the main box so fairly straight forward ,worth trying oil change first as oil is very detergent may improve or make worse ,but fixable as long as oil drained out of box isnt black as this indicates burnt clutch/es
