Hi all i have a 1977 series 3 with a discovery 200 di conversion it just has the metal throttle rod linkage to the fuel injection pump and it has always done a bit of kangarooing but since i put new parabolics on the front its amplified it ten fold, so im planning on putting a defender throttle pedal on but im not sure if i should use the disco throttle cable or a defender one ? has anyone got any ideas or even pictures if you have already done this. thanks all what would we all do without the landyzone knowledge cheers Cris

I have the original pedal with a series diesel cable

from the bulkhead to FIP.
Glencoynes website shows using defender pedal.

Thanks Blackburn so you have just used a series diesel cable connected from inside the engine bay to the fuel injection pump throttle this sounds more simple than changing the pedal I dont suppose you have a part no for the cable thanks again cris

by the way blackburn i notice you have a cone filter do you also have one inside the filter housing also, i was going to do this but wondered if two filters would starve the engine of air ?

Yes that is the part I used
The two filters does not cause any starvation , cone reduces noise from air inlet, mind I do not have turbo fitted being a SWB with Ashcroft HRT with 205 tyres on it will easily do 70mph without turbo , put 7.50,s on it struggles on long hill climbs to maintain speed. Keep trying to convince myself to go to the expense of a turbo but not getting there.
