My landy leaks like a sive and I've decided to change the knackered bench seats. I only had one fitted anyway, but the cloth finish soaked up loads of water that leaked in through the dodgey seal in the side window (i think). I am going to put a 2 man seat rather than a 3 man seat to allow me to move the 2nd row seats back a little.
Has anyone fitted a shorter bench seat in the back, if so, does it just bolt in, or is major surgery required? I've also seen these

Wtf is the bar for, is it only for the belts? I dont have anything like that??

Cheers,

I've got a feeling [I'm sure somebody will correct me if i'm wrong] that the bar acts as an anchor point for the belts and also a strenghener between the anchor points. It sits behind the bench. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful.

My 95 110 csw was assembled in South Africa with the seats you talk about. I took them out long ago, but I can't send them to you because the postage sucks. But the assembler did modify the rear seat to make it more useful and comfortable. To give you an idea, if you look in the rear side window of mine you can see the whole thickness of the seat back, whereas on a std 110 the seat is not visible. So the back is about 6" further back. I believe the seat is also lowered a bit as well, so the passengers can see out of the windows.

I can post photos of it if you like.

If you could Jim, that would be great. I dont carry too many passengers, but I cant put any kids in the back these days due to the change in the law, so its only adults in the back, and they tend to moan after a few miles! So the shorter seats sound like they will do the trick.

I won't post photos of the two-person inward-facing seats because they are a standard LR part, but will send you photos and measurements of the modified rear bench seat. Oh, the other slightly different thing about mine is that it is a 100% full width seat, not the 60/40 standard seat.
