Just purchased some new wheels and tyres from ebay for 200 sheets resulting in a 2" lift, flippin' result

from this...

to this..

Gone from 205/80/16 to 235/85/16 all five tyres on grabbers for 200 notes and no changes to the suspension:D

I do 99% of my driving down country lanes on the way to work and although I'd considered getting mud terrains I thought it a bit over kill and for 200 quid for 5 matching wheels and tyres with a minimum of 7mm tread the muds can wait. Probably more inclined to go for a/t's like General Grabbers a/t or a/t2 though.

I do like those wheels.
Was that an Ebay bargain?

Just re read the OP....what a dick it says ebay on there

It had these on when I first got it....

So anything was an improvement over them

That's where I am at the moment. I wanted A/T in 255/85 for about a 3.5" lift but will settle for 235/85 because of the better range of tyres. Does it make a noticeable difference to the gearing?

It certainly seemed happier on the A38 earlier today. Does seem slower accelerating though cos obviously it used to be uber fast:D

Used to measure 58cm to the top of the front bumper now it's 62cm. What size tyres have you got at the mo?

The taller the tyre the higher the gearing.
I had an early r/r 1.19 tfer box and 33.5 inch tyres was a real ####er pulling away on a steep hill, now back to std 1.4 tfer box and its just about bearable

235/85 are about 31.5" so expect an improvement at 60mph ish over the 29" tyres that I currently have.
