Hi guy's.
The 90 i've recently purchased has been lifted by 2" according to seller, and when i look underneath at the rear prop shaft, at the end attached to gearbox, you can see the inner splines showing by about 1", maybe a little less. Is this supposed to be the case or should they not be showing at all!!! the landy is sat level on concrete.
Also, as this has a 2" lift i take it the rear shocks should be an adapted type and i have to different makes on the rear axle and the landy doesn't appear to be sat level!!
Can anyone tell me what i should be checking to make sure it is a "2 lift (i know for sure it's lifted) and recommend me a good set of shocks to get the back end equal.
Also, is there an adaptor needed for the prop shaft end, if mine isn't right, or do i need a lengthened one etc.

Thanks.

Regarding the prop, mine isn't lifted at the moment, but I'm sure my last 110 (which was) didn't have any splines showing when lifted (may be wrong)

You don't NEED extended length shocks for a lift, but you will lose articulation over standard ride height, so it's a bit of a no brainer to either get +2" shocks, or +2" shock mounts to make shock travel match that of original. Shock absorbers do not affect the ride height of the vehicle, the weight of even an unloaded 90 will easily compress a shock, unless it's broken. I;d look at something else, possibly a damaged spring or spring turret, or even different springs!

Personally speaking, I'd probably go for Pro-comp +2" shocks if I were to do a lift, but I hear good things about Terrafirma ones also.

You won't need an adapter plate for your prop, you just need the right prop, but on a 90 I'm sure only one will fit??? (again maybe wrong) I know on the 110 props are shorter for Salisbury diffs than the later Rover diffs, but I thought there was only 1 prop for a 90.

Thanks Matt.
Springs don't appear to be different but i will check again for damage on monday when i get back to it.
Been looking at the extended prop's on ebay, and the sellers add states it has these but how do i tell the difference!! in lay mans terms. Is there a measurement i can take to be able to tell or any markings etc.
Perhaps someone knows.

Wish i had a pic of this now.

Well, if it's an extended prop, you would assume that it'd also be wide angle yoke on the UJs. So check that, or take a photo and post it up.

If your prop is an adjustable, then it will be showing splines, with a 2" lift you wont be anywhere near the end of the props full length so dont worry. But there should be some sort of manufacturer or number on there, so give it a clean and see if there is anything there. Like matt said it could be a wide angle adjustable like this:

Agree with matt, the shocks are not the reason why it isnt level. The springs are what supports the weight. The springs might be the same make but are they on the right side of the motor? Some manufacturers have a right and left, i know my Old Man Emu ones do.

Park it next to a non lifted 90 to see if its lift or not. the only other thing is to research on google the height of an unladen 90 and subtract the difference between yours and the other.

Hope that helps.

Thanks.
How much movement do these props normally have in/out on the props!!
This is the landy showing riding height.. i'm pretty sure its lifted.

thats what you need the part number for. then you can find out the open and closed length. otherwise if your desperate to find out then you'll need to take it off an measure it.

I cant tell from the pictures if its on the **** or not though. Need a picture from the front.

Well i'll get some more pic's as soon as i get an engine back in it. If i get it back in lol.
I'll also get the part numbers for prop.
Where do i search ones i have the part numbers.
