Hi, im thinking of fitting a lift kit to my 110 H/T and was wondering what the benifits and pit fall are. I am planning on green laning and the odd play and pay day. Would the extra lift have much of an effect on economy and performance. Cheers

just as RED HAND says if your goin to put a 2" lift then you'll only benefit is you get to put bigger wheele to lift you axles then you'll have the lift and articulation,

If yoove loads a money an wanna pimp yer ride then go fer it along with a couple of sheets of chequer plate. If you wanna green lane then put the money to one of those sat nav thingies that you download your route into, so you won't get lost or go trespassing or owt.

Thanks for the advice, since im not using big wheels, 235/85 r16 A/Ts I think I will give the lift kit a miss. Would replacing the normal springs or shocks make much of a difference.

Only if the original ones are knackered. The thing is there pretty good as standard for moderate green laning an offroading. I'd spand my money on rock/tree sliders without these your sills are going to get bent to hell, and maybe a front diff protector, I'd go for a half decent set of AT or MT tyres.

Hd springs and better shocks will give you a better ride. I went out greenlaning today with a friend both of us in bog standard disco's with roads biased tires on and we were fine. Unless the pay & Play is going to be a regular occurence I would stick to what's on there now and if you go out and get stuck then that's the time you'll need bigger wheels/tires/liftkit.

hay. i'm new on here so if this has been covered then dont go mad but if you lift the landy will it become more unstable going up steep hills?

yes, because you're raising the centre of gravity.
unless you're into serious / competitive off-roading, and are going to couple it to bigger wheels, don't bother.

if yer running straight up the hill it shouldn't bother it much , unless yer lift it a reet shed load of inches. if yer running across the hill it will affect it more,
