2 day old range rover p38 in garage part 2 please help

as most would know, i bought this range rover had it for 2 days and engine blew,

today i went to garage as i recieved phone cal to say it was done,

but

the sport button now doesnt work and also the kick down doesn work at all,

iv refused to take it as they did work before,

they guy cant figure why it doesn work

any ideas??

Obvious question, are any faults showing on the dash or anything??

When pressing the Sport button what happens??

nothing happens, it had a 4.6 engine fitted, originally a 4.0

the guy said a gearbox ault light appeared but soon went of

Does the button even light up when you press it???

Have you:

a) Taken the gearlever trim off to check connection in car??

b) Had a quick look under car for wires hanging down - not connected??

i havent no, i told the garage to keep the car until its fixed, just wondering if there was anything i could point him at, as he sems to be acting tad on the dip sh*t side, no lights at all turn on chris

Sounds as though a multi plug has been left disconnected underneath the car or cables pinched. Have a look for a dangling plug.
When pulling the lump out of the V8's all the disconnecting etc. is carried out under the bonnet and car-no need to go near the inside.
