2,8td diesel freelander 2003 engine light on

Can you help never had a diesel engine before went to go to work last night when i turned the engine the engine light comes on but car turns over but wont start can you help ?

Ok i made a mistake its a 2.0 Td

The 2.8 diesel freelanders can be a bit tricky sometimes...

Some of us are a little more forgiving to newbies.
Unfortunately there are a number of things that it could be, but with the light on would look at a fuel issue. Can you hear the low pressure pump in the driver side rear wheel arch running with the ignition on. If so then lift bonnet and have a good look around the high pressure pump for signs of leaking.
