Hi all,

Just a quick one. my brother has just purchased a 2.5dse range rover on a W' plate. I was lucky enough to drive it for a bit today. and I must say what a slug. I mean to get anything out of it you have to drive it hard. if I drive it like my 4.0 V8. it is so lethargic, slow. seams to rev like made. and to be fitted with a sports button what a joke. my main question is are thay all like that to drive. We covered around 50 miles in her today and the average mpg seams to be about 19 - 22. for a weasel that seams really bad. I know its 2 ton car but i would have expected more.

Its is a nice car, green with gray leather. all the toys and 136k miles with a FSH. can any one give us a indication to what its worth.

Thanks

Bryan

P.S think i will be sticking with my V8 one!!!!

My brother in law thought his diesel was "quite nippy" - until I took him out in my 4.6 !
If it's an auto make sure the gearbox is changing gear properly, his was slipping and a recon box did help it go a bit better
Trouble was you couldn't here it slipping for the din of the engine !
I think the throttle pedal on the diesels is linked to a volume control - they don't go any faster when you press it.........................just get louder ;)
as for value, if he bought it from a dealer he better be prepared to take a big hit - there's a lot out there and they are really good value at the mo.
I would reckon anywhere between £6500 - £8000

Hi.
I have a 2.5 dse and have fitted a psi powerchip. What a difference that made. I pity anybody who drives a dse without one !!

That's impressive, where did you get it? I fancy one as my superchip gives nothing near those figures & am thinking of changing. The car is great but the consumption is harrowing!!Any advice gratefully received.

Sniff......Sniff..................... I can definitely smell ****e !

Best be careful where you tread then:)

I'm simply stating what the readout tells me on the dash, anyway, I'm VERY pleased with the MPG of my car now, however, since fitting the Python-box, I've noticed that it smokes a bit now, whereas it didn't before:confused:

So it will removed when the MOT is due (5 min work)

Thanks for the link.I am having the Superchip agent who did the original fitting check the ECU/programme/data file & any possible corruption. Seem very helpful so far as there is a lifetime guarantee! Will post up any useful info. for other dhse groaners!!!
