Hi Guys,

I am putting the finishing touches to my rented garage ready to bring the 2a up and had a sort out of mi shed at the weekend.

YWhen I was younger someone gave me a seized diesel engine and told me it was a land rover engine.

Its a 12J so its later than my 1964 Series 2 haha.. but what Id like to ask is I have the original 2.25 petrol in mine at the moment as was wondering if Id have to change the diffs and gearbox to fit the diesel or are the ratios the same?

Many thanks in advance guys, will post some pictures of the transportation next weekend hehe:D

Will be fine, I've got a 12J in my series 3. Only thing you have to change is drivers side engine mount. Some people say you have to fit the battery under the passenger seat but you dont have to. Mine fits nicely in the engine bay as land rover intended. I think you do have to move it forward about an inch or so I think,( I never did the conversion so cant really tell)

Diffs and gearbox are standard series and exhaust is standard series on mine, plus I think the clutch on mine is series (I didnt change it when I rebuilt it but Im pretty sure it is)
