Thinking Of Swapin My 1.8exi Freelander For A 2.0ex Di
Not That My 1.8 Ever Gave Me Ant Trouble But We Tow A Caravan & The Diesel Would Be Better For Towing.
Coule Anyone Tell Me If The Di Engine Is A Good Motor & Is There Any Problems With This Engine Are The H/g Ok In Thease Unlike The 1.8 K
It Has Done 80k But I Assume This Is Low Milage For A Diesel
Wats The Low Down On These Engines Lads Please

all ive ever heard said against them is theyre abit slow and noisey, and that the td4 is better. i have the td4 and its a fine motor but i cant coment on the 2l exi ive never driven one. best to test drive it see what you think. ask the owner if hes towed with it, and would he mind you trying it with your caravan. worth a try. glad your 1.8 has been get a rite slatin on here, cant all be bad then...:)

I have the 2.0L diesel and yes it is a noisy old lump. But it has a nice even feel to it, a broad spread of (limited) power. I've no towed with it, so couldn't comment there though.

I'm in basildon in essex. If you're near by you're welcome to stop by and have a listen/drive up the road.
