I have a 1999 Diesel Freelander 2.0 (L series).
It has just started to over rev. When stationary, it will not idle at its usual 800 revs at times but runs at 1=00+ then rises to 2000 to 2500, 3000. This is an intermittent problem but it is becoming more frequent. It will also seem to stall then pick up again whilst driving normally. Occasionally the red engine light flickers on then goes off. A diagnostic test did not pick up anything. Does anyone have any ideas where I should start looking? Would really appreciate some advice.
