Well guys, fingers crossed I'll be picking up my 1st Landy on Monday at some point:D:D. In the past few weeks I've done about 1000 miles searching for a decent one & then find it 30 minutes away:doh:

It's a '98 Jap import 300tdi auto, about 160k looks very tidy underneath with no real bodywork problems; bits of flaking here & there but nothing worrying. Only a 5 seat version, no sunroofs, & drives quite smoothly. Best bit £1800 so saved a bit of cash. I think it's to be called 'Midi' as I'm told it's a mid-life-crisis buy from the wife:eek:

Pics on Monday hopefully.

Jap imports can be quite good for less rust and the 2 extra seats can be bought and fitted quite easily if you want them, also having no sunroofs is a serious plus in a disco as they are the cause of many probs.

I hope it's as good as you say, look forward to piccies :D

Got a couple or 3 ideas for the pot as regards the reg.
1. Either a dealer had it and could not shift it as everybody was waiting for the new D2 too come out
2. Dealers were holding back for the new D2 and Land Rover could not shift it.
3. It got forgot about with the D2 build and sales push, and discovered sitting it all alone in compound and sold thru Land Rovers in house car sales scheme.

Either way, unless you can prove its 100%, previous ownership etc, keep looking.

Coffee Monster.

Bit like mine in September 1997 when the 98MY disco was available alongside mine, but I was the one who got a 6 grand discount plus a load of extras fitted or I could go for the 98 disco at full price. I'll have the 97 model thank you.

And in 98 the unsold D1s were in the Dealers rear car park while the D2s were in the front showroom.

Well, I'm now a Disco owner or as my wife says officially having a mid-life crisis. Brought it home and emptied a can of wd40 on door hinges & locks. Am I the only person on the planet who does this? Will get some pics up tomorrow as I went for a we jaunt on some 'rough' ground just to make sure you know. The guy I bought it from even had it garage serviced this morning before I got it!

More info tomorrow peeps; going to dream/have nightmares aboutDisco ownership.

Here are a couple of pics of the new toy. Day 1: rear brake light not working; go to change & can see that it's not been working for a while, the bulb holder is burnt around parts & some **** has wrestled with it to get it out previously. So that's the first job.
