1996 Range Rover

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at getting 1996(ish) Range Rover 4.0 SE and I was just wondering if people could let me know what to look out for... potential problems with them.. specific things I should know etc.

Hope someone can help me .

(I was also looking at a 1999(ish) Freelander... could anyone offer other such advice about buying one)

Potential Problems = more or less everything and anything!! Also, maybe pockets too short for all the cash you need to get it going ok and keep it going ok.....

Seriously, do some reading on the forum and elsewhere on the web, and be very careful when you do buy one - take a knowledgeable mate with you, if at all possible, to look it over.

be very carefull, as these cars are coming up to 13/14 years old obviously things are wearing out. look for reciepts for replacement parts, try and get one with a replaced engine or top hat lined engine! fellas on here recommend a good service history, mine had history to 120k miles but still fecked up soon after purchase. there are many posts on here, check the coolant evertime you check another part. a knowledgeable person is a must!
