Here is my 300TDI Auto Discovery for sale. 1996, 172k and has sadly failed the MoT on sill and arch rot. Gutted. Few small other items but all easy fixes. Ironically, the boot floor is solid as a rock as are the footwells, apparently!
I have neither the time nor the skill to weld it up (quoted 2 days of work by Mansfield 4x4, LR Specialists) hence it is up for sale. I could break it, but it is just too good to do so. Engine is in great nick, cambelt replaced 10k miles ago and auto box works well. All low range / diffs etc work as they should as well, EGR blanked off.
BFG All Terrains all round, good interior, NO LEAKS!! There was a problem with water ingress through the driver's door but this is fixed and inside is dry and snug. I have a new sunroof seal just in case but I have not noticed any leaks from either of them. All electric windows work although back doors are intermitent, central locking all fine and no problems with the lock springs. The rear wiper works!
Heavy duty tow bar with caravan plate and electrics.
Put simply, if you have welding skill this is a simple fix and you have a solid (once welded!) and reliable Disco. I have taken a picture of the failure sheet for your info.
The Disco has MoT to the end of the month so if you are local you could drive it away with no issues. The NSF wheel bearing could do with tightening if you are planning a long journey in it but mechanically it would do it no problem. I drove to Cumbria and back from Suffolk in October with no issues at all.
Please email me with any questions- this needs to go soon before I change my mind and spend the family Christmas money on having it repaired. I would not be popular..... Cash on collection if possible, please!!
