About 3 weeks now until planned MOT time so better get cracking with the last few jobs. Got a new door handle for the drivers door and locks all round. Got eyebrows fitted and rotated the tyres around. Sills primed and painted (Didn't have any suitable bolts to fit yet), and gave the lower tailgate a quick paint. Got a few bits coming in the next few days such as seatbelts, wipers, door channel packing and rear window seals.

Seatbelts arrived from Exmoor trim today. Not cheap but the old ones were all taped up and If there's one thing Im gonna do right on this build, it's the seatbelts. Got a carling switch for my fan which just needs the mount finishing.

Looking good.
How much did your sills cost?
I'm considering the YRM ones. They are about £95 for the pair, but are 3mm thick! I've heard you can have problems lining everything up with the panel being all in one though.

Last couple of days..... Changed the exhaust nuts as they were nyloc. Fitted sills but there seems to be a gap between them and the proper sill? Got the drivers window channels fitted and window and winder mechanism in. Headlining in too. Planning for MOT a week friday. Main jobs left to do is change alternator (coming tomorrow). Fix brake problem (master cylinder is coming tomorrow), fix exhaust at the rear, rear 1/4 window seals, fix dash lights, change coolant, and a few other small bits. Could be a push but a week friday is the aim.

Got my new alternator today as I haven't got time to rebuild the other one right now as MOT is planned for next friday. New master cylinder as well but it hasn't fixed the problem with the brakes so I'll try bleeding again but other than that Im pretty stuck :(

I think there is meant to be a bottom rubber on the main sill which covers that gap, maybe someone else can confirm?

my bottom door seals are pop rivetted on. the bearmach ones i bought had the holes in the wrong place, so just be prepared to make new ones.

Right so MOT was planned for Friday but there's a chance it wont be ready as im still waiting for some fuses and turbo hoses. Also need to sort out insurance. Revised date is the 14th as I have the afternoon off college. Not much progress with the brakes but I have got them as good as they can be. I will try it with the MOT and then sort out in the future. Sorted out the wipers which was just a dodgy fuse. Changed all the indicators (again) as the bulbs wouldn't stay in the Wipac ones. A friend from college came and gave me a hand on Monday and bought his series 2 to show me.

I got an aluminium strip with my galvanised sills from YRM which look like seal holders but just not sure how or where they attach to.

The "P" shaped strip attaches to the sill rail with rivets to hold the bottom door seal. They don't come fitted as the seal fits to that strip on older Fenders but on new Fenders the seal is on the bottom of the door.

Great thread btw would love to see it in book form with pics n comments how you did things.

I am pleased to announce the car is complete. Last weekend I got the last few jobs done such as fit the new turbo and air pipes which look really good :) Got the rear window seals in too.
