Cock and bollocks.

The pennies just dropped.

Into rave for a look, I have the g valve plumbed in backwards what an asshat,

Too late to do owt about it now , i have no cupronickle and the two longest pipes on the car need changing.... Fingers crossed thats all it fails on and they have time to change it.

Bahahhahabits funnier than a fail.

Dropped off and keys through the door this morning .

Went to work.

Popped in on way home assuming it was a bad fail....

It was there with the bonnet open. Never a good sign.

Speak to mike. - errr mate yer mot is tomorrow i was gonna try squeeze it in tonight but have not managed ill do it first thing in am.

- ok do you mind if i take it up the road over night for security.......(open yard)

Boom . G valve is plumbed in right way up and te brakes turn you inside out before locking up!

SO i failed.

Not unexpected how ever

Fog light not working - seems my switch has gone dodgy ... Was fine on monday night and after the test only working if i pulled it on a certain way.

Both front headlights are dim .... Im not sure on that one tbh.... He reckons earth ill run a new earth and see what like.

And one clip on a brake pipe under the bulkhead.

Not that bad then. My foglight switch was temperamental. You can strip them. Think I cleaned the contacts and tweaked the spring in mine to take out the slop

Already done that working grand now is my fog light.

Done the headlights one at the same time.

Russell you dinnae have a spare pair of standard lamp units i could buy and gan get a pair of bulbs from halfords ... I think sealed beams are whats tripping me up .....

I have spiffing earths and low voltage drops and my lights are fed through a direct 12v feed from battery to a boomslang loom.....they should be as bright as anything...

No spare lamps I'm afraid. Maybe the sealed ones are tired...

My wheel nuts are the same. Every defender I've seen with steel wheels have been the same

Blue . That wellknown earth colour boomslang.....

If you put the right wires on the right part of the bulb and realise that boomslangs wiring diagram is a load of pish and doesnt work with h4 bulbs then your doing well....mines working now !

Went for a spin aboot the country roads up the shooting greens and thr cairn o mount.

The old 200tdi has more guts than me. I lifted off at 70. It feels more stable above 55 for some reason than between 40-50

Some teething issues - - blocked diff breather( now unblocked) has blown out my hub seals :(

I have a weaping clutch master - or perhaps just left over clutch fluid in that area from the bleeding process - it only appeared after i stuck the nose of the landy up a banking.

It must be broken - the heater works well ! The mrs complained it was too hot !

permission to say COCK .

did 60 miles last night . drove to work today - 15 miles - all good.

parked up.

shut down.

went back out later - deader than a can of spam. all lights on dash but soon as i turn the key nothing.

has to be an earth or a loose connection to the starter surely.

*main gearbox earth is corroded at the join.... time to replace......

as per other thread

twas my starter solenoid had died.

goign again - managed 120 miles to the coast and back on sunday and work and back yesterday/today.

thank #### for freshly rebuild brakes.

folk underestimate his speed..... it will do 85 with the engine revving its tits off on a 1.410 lt230.

i usually sit about 55.

today a golf pulled out on me at short notice as i was doing said 55 up a hill - then panic stopped infront of me.... ####ing nobber. brakes really turned me inside out stopped a foot or so off his bumper with my horns (i wired in 3) on constant and the headlights/light bar glaring at him.......

i think he got the idea i was mad - his door opened - then quickly closed as i was shouting all the expletives under the sun at him.

also my front seal has gone on transfer box :( and next oilchange i need to redo the sump-block sealant

Ordered a pedal box- (realised how useless the car is as is - could steal it with a paperclip if so inclined and i was in town on saturday but couldnt find anywhere decent to park it as is) and clutch master seal kit yesterday.
