14 years parked up and engine started up almost instantly, nice tickover and accelerates smoothly.

Gearbox and engine split and just engine to lift out.

Old chassis is now outside and new chassis now has the engine fitted.
Everything washed and gearbox is next to go back in with the old clutch which turned out to be virtually unmarked and like new. New master, slave and flexi will be fitted.

Waiting for parts to be delivered.
Drivetrain is all fitted, now needing a gas supplier for the mig welder.
Looked at the 9 litre hobbyweld 5 system but a rip off price of £54 for a refill near me when it is usually £38 means it is a no.
Going with the boc volkszone offer which is now the hobby offer for a 20l tank.
£35.19 for a 20l tank fill inc vat. Rental is £52.44 for the year and no other costs.
Bulkhead needs welding and a few other jobs to do.
Timing belt kit to fit etc.
Need a fitting kit for the exhaust if anyone has found a good complete set online.

Flying along!
The tin worm has just about finished that lot off. :)
Did the floor have a lot of dissimilar metal corrosion damage?

Floor was pretty good, the odd little bit but nothing bad. Rear body is ready to fit. Seat base has ends cut off ready for new panels and battery box needing some repairs. Bulkhead is the hold up with waiting on the repair panels.

Back to the 90 repairs, welding time.

Pretty much standard fare for a 90, new panels to be welded in.
Not too bad as old pre defenders go, rest of bulkhead is good to go.

Dash is all loose, had a look for rodent damage but all looks good, barn had a lot of other things to eat which I guess tasted better than plastic wiring.
If you meant rust damage under there, it all look good and clean, I think later 90s had a problem with build quality in terms of quality metal.

Seems a little bit high to me. Should settle a bit but that seems jacked up.

Looking good.

When I fitted new springs it looked like mine was sitting very high. So much so that I went and got the packaging out of the bin to see if I'd got + 2" ones by accident. People asked me if I had a lift kit. It will settle a bit over the next few months if my experience is anything to go by.
