As per the title, I need to know the number of splines on the rear (drum braked) rover diff on my 1985 90".
I know I can check by taking one out, but I'm at work, and would like to order new driving members in time to get them for the weekend. So what 'should' they be? My parts manual is for a 110, which I know can be different - salisbury diffs etc.
All thoughts appreciated.

Well now, having looked at whats actually fitted and checking and checking with the FF site using the VIN , it looks like almost all the pre 93 models use a 24 pin shaft/member.

I thought all drum braked rear axles were 10 spline out of the factory? 10 vs 24 spline refers to the number of splines on the diff end of the shaft, not the wheel end

As per the oracle above - 10 splines at the diff end. There was a lot of wear on the driving member splines, not too surprising after 217k. Changing has reduced the amount of slop when changing gear a lot - almost eliminated it in fact.
A nice easy job too. The hardest part is getting the old gasket remains off the hub. I used a stanley knife blade.

With them both side by side you can really tell how f*cked the old ones are.
