Thats the best suggestion to the roof box and I would say most plausible. I bought it from JSF in Norwich he took it in to sell or break it. I make accessories for defenders and needed a development car this is ideal, I didn't go out looking for a left hand drive petrol but I like its quirkiness.
Front welding done, NS rear outrigger fitted ready for welding and just the rear cross member and electrical faults to fix and then its on the road. Fun? I love welding and I am having so much fun!

thinking of putting a 6.5ltr diesel in it making it a soft top and selling to Canadian's they love them and will pay thousands!

Might be intended as a light hearted comment but in my opinion this is the kind of xenophobic intolerance which should be saved for face to face banter not posted on an internet forum about vehicles.

It was not an anti islamic comment but actually a dig at the xenophobic attitude of the dutch cartoonist in question and the perception of the dutch it has helped to form.

No it doesn't open its an extension to the roof, someone else suggested it might be to increase the capacity to allow it to be classified as a van for tax reasons in Netherlands.
Having done a fair bit of work on it now it seems to be a very well maintained truck.
My MOT tester has stated the handbrake is 0% but on the ramps i use it holds it, cant be overcome by the engine and only clicks 4 times 5 if you really pull on it. I am thinking they may have tried to test on the rolling road! surly not? I thought they needed to be tested on an incline. Anyway we'll find out tomorrow!

Its not the usual type of handbrake so not hard to see why they might struggle.

Well we'll see, I called up the MOT place after I got it back and asked how they test a trans mounted handbrake and he said they have a special device they use, I asked do you do a road test on an incline? he then went on in a vague manor to talk about a device they put in the car on the road test!
What a load of bull crap!
If they still say its not good enough I'll challenge them to push it along!

I'm going have to recount what I said previously, to test the hand brake they use a "decelerometer" during a road test and pull handbrake on. this then measures declaration thus testing the hand brake.
That said he was still previously very vague on the phone and I am always weary of garages mentioning "special testing devices"
So not bull but true. A day without learning is a day wasted!

Really!?!?!. Bizarre considering the handbrake is not for use while on the move, but to prevent movement from standstill. Surely a brake on the gearbox is at risk of damage being tested that way??

He has used a decelerometer as his rolling brake tester wont be compatible with 4x4 vehicles, he has done this test correctly although with the handbrake it is open to interpretation, some will test with a meter, others will test by seeing if it holds. either way a reading of 0% is wrong if its holding for you...

Its a local garage with a reputation for ripping people off. It has been taken over by someone who approached me and asked why we stopped using, I told him all the reasons and he is bending over backwards to help.
He is also doing a 3.9ltr V8 conversion to an F reg 90 so has that going for him. He's also an all round good chap so giving him a chance.
As I mentioned earlier in the thread we had a bet that I wouldn't do all the work within 10 days or he would pay for the MOT so that's won!
He's trying hard but with the old staff sometimes old habits die hard. The owner assures me it will be ok.
Indecently, is there any adjustment other than the thread on the cable? There is a square head at 6 o clock looking from front but I thought that was the release for when removing.

the square head is the handbrake adjuster, is the difflock engaged when he tests the handbrake and is he following the instructions for testing on the fusebox cover?
