hey guys,
i wanted to overhaul all the brakes on my series 3 88, any idead on costs??????,
i want do do this because i would like to genrally improve the brakes and also the landy pulls hard to the right when braking, more so the harder i push, so also any idea of costs of overhauling the front brakes???
thanks ben

can get a kit of parts from LR series for around 20 odd quid a side which is brake cylinders shoes springs etc. May i suggest you renew hub seals at the very least.

Not strictly true Britpart is a supplier they supply loads of good stuff aswell as some crap stuff. Agreed the cheap ones and ones in the kit are not best quality.

also seen this thing about fitting an old vaccum pump from a peugeot instead of using the normal butterfly valve system (its a diesel) andy one tryed this, is it hard?

The butterfly valve needs to be closed when foot off pedal to get the most vacuum, check the hand throttle is complety off and the cross arm links to throttle adjusted properly

if you can afford lucas wheel cylinders it will save doing em again soon
if its pulling to one side theres a reason

oily shoes, air in wheel cylinder, sticky piston, not adjusted properly,

get the drum off and have a look
