I was just thinking - if Scratchy's enjun requires a complete rebuild I might be better breaking 'im... And if I did I'd really fancy a '71 doosel truck cab. And then there's this'n - shame North Norfolk is so far from south Dorset, anyone fancy giving me a lift..!

Well I'm willing to pick you up from Kings Lynn or maybe even a bit further away but I'm not driving to Dorset:eek::p

Not sure if it's cos of multiple GnT's - but I seem to be convincing myself that this might be a good idea! Only thing is I'll need to sell my Audi ('99 A4 1.9TDi wiv blue leather) to finance it. And find time for the trip so won't be able to do it for a couple of weeks - is your pal in a rush? Or would he be interested in an Audi..?

And is it *really* as good as you say..?

He wouldn't be interested in another car, he's got a few, the only thing he would be interested in is a vintage bike of some sort.

It is as good as a 42 year old landy can be, once the tax is on I'm going to take it for a drive and give it a good scrub down. I don't know what else to tell you, it ain't mint, mechanically it's strong but needs driving and as my mate just had his hip replaced he can't get in and out of it and could do with a bit of cash flow so this is for sale.

I'll get the Audi scrubbed up and on fleabay then. Gi's a report back on Monday as to how it drives then if you could... Ta.

Probably be Wednesday before I get to take it for a drive unless I convince him to let me drive it round for a few days:D the only thing I didn't like is the steering wheel is covered with what looks like cable tidy stuff but not really a big problem is it?

you must understand though, that this is still for sale to anyone else that may come along in the meantime.

Alreety... Had a drive of a SII doosal today and it was alright. Main problem was that it was an 88 and I need to be able to carry stuff. A couple of questions came to mind, how's the chassis? You say it's had a small weld but is the rest clean or going crusty? And how's the wiring? And other bits like doors - they can attract a bit of the tin worm (although I have got a couple of gooduns on Scratchy...) I'm getting closer to going for this - I got finances sorted now and am working on lifts. Do you know what your mate would take without the other roof (pm me if you'd prefer...)

I'll go over tomorrow lunchtime and get you some pics of the doors and chassis. Not sure about wiring I'll have to ask him. Is there much wiring on them? I know all the lights work and the heater light works, don't know what else there is on these but I'll get all the info tomorrow and also ask him the best price without the roof.

Driving back to Dorset could be an adventure in one of these. :)

There is *some* wiring. The one I saw yesterday seemed to have spurious wires all over the place - much like Scratchy - and I hate wiring..!

Could you get some piccies of the bulkhead too please? Especially the top corners.

I'm wondering how easy it is to fit an overdrive - there's one local to me on fleabay which might be worth getting and fitting before the drive back.

Thinking of investing in a solid tow-bar fingy for a bit of piece of mind for the drive home!
