Hi guys,

Approaching the need for new tyres and want to put bigger tyres on but keep the same 15 inch wheels. Now I'm sure some of you guys have done this and can provide entertaining and educational pictures to help me choose :)

I'm ok with the type and make but would love assistance with size (as the actor said to the bishop!) currently got 195/80/15.

Thanks all :)

The question is ,do you want more ground clearance off road?
Do you want wider road bias tyres?
Do you want something more aggressive /knobbly for the winter.
I know that 195 's look a bit skinny but I have a set of camac's in 195 and they are fantastic in mud 'n' snow.
BLOODY NOISY on road though

215 80 15 Continental cross contact A/T, they give me about an inch extra hight, and I can just get my finger between the tyre and the spring cup, no rubbing anywhere at all. No spacers

Hi chaps, thanks for the responses - I'm looking for fun not road tyres ;) but in all seriousness I always go for AT tyres and they serve me well. Never ventured all the way to MT territory but I think the road noise would put me off!

Same as.... Kumho Kl71 215/80 R15's about 1"Taller (ground clearance from wheel to hub centre 18")
Great off road, smoother ride, but a bit too much roll in corners, crachy load speed ride if pressures too high, and road speed grip isn't as good as my other set especially in the wet (Summer) 16" 6J Freelander Alloys with 215/65/ R16 Sanli Van Type Tyres (with 5mm spacers) not fouling at all on either set
Better grip, but a bit firmer on road, but not as good off road?

Best of both worlds.............

Here is a pic of mine on Continental crosscontact AT in 215/80/15.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. Looks like 215/80/15 will do the trick nicely. NoDosh yours looks good on those tyres. Size looks a bit more landrover, if you know what I mean.

Cheers all :)
