12v kettle are these any use? Got a stove and flask, just thinking that one of these switched on 20 min before you get to your destination would give you boiling water for a brew before you start your day.

I know you poo poo'ed the kelly kettle idea. but have you tried a jetboil?

I got one from the missus for xmas and its fooking brilliant. I know you want something to boil water for when you arrive, but like it has already been pointed out, thats dangerous.

From cold my jetboil will do enough water for 2 cups of coffee in about 5 minutes. But if your impatient like me, i boil the kettle at home and put it in a thermos. That way the water is not far from boiling when it goes in the jetboil it takes less than a minute to reach boiling point.

If its for making tea then I withdraw my suggestion as tea is the wee of the devil and should be abolished.

YES! i agree tea is stinking orrible stuff. :puke:

I have a variety of gas, petrol, meths, stoves, they all need taking out, setting up, and putting away.
So I thought if these 12v kettles do the biss, I could strap one down in the passenger footwell and have water ready when I arrive, and by heating on the go I wont be draining my battery as they take a fair bit of juice.
