good afternoon. In a moment of madness myself and the better half fancy going to Ben Nevis. We live in Devon in the SW of england. Its a good 1200mile round trip.

We've only had the landy a month or so (200tdi in a D-reg NA 90).
My question is what would you guys do bearing in mind we leave in a week.

I was planning on a service. oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter.

Put a new door on as the old one fell off the other day.

I replaced a UJ as it broke but tbh the rest look pretty awful so i think i might do all of them. i greased one prop shaft. the other is missing the grease nipple so i'll replace that and grease that too.

I checked the diff levels and there good.

When i got the landy the guy who put the 200tdi in said he never changed the timing belt and doesn't know how old it was. he gave me all the belts, gaskets etc to do. With a week to go is it a dumb idea to do it now incase it all goes wrong? or should i do it because it may snap? (probably won't though!)

I also have a new fuel tank turning up to fit as well as the old one leaks
Anything else? or should i stop worrying, its not THAT far!

It just seems alot in one hit to me.

Cheers, Steve

Replace em all - for the sake of 20 quid and an hour's work it may well save you from a chatestrophic failure. Only use Hardy Spicer ones though.

I checked the diff levels and there good. Check the gearbox, transfer box and swivels too.

Pig of a job, but gotta be done,

Check wheel bearings, brake pads / shoes, tyres etc.
Get good breakdown cover.
