I'm looking for replacement shocks for the rear of this Wolf and they are non-standard.

The main problem appears to be the over length bottom stud, due to the extra bushing.

Has anyone found a suitable replacement?

I will not be off-roading.

Any pointers very much appreciated from fellow Wolf owners who have done this.

Because originals are not available, only Britpart and I'm not using those.

I have identified a Monroe that is the same physical spec and I'll speak to them again on Monday.

@Wolf Pack , I'd love to know what makes the Wolf rear dampers so 'special...' Bet they're just boggo' std dampers with maybe a heavier damping rate, but they're nothing special. It would really be worth finding the original spec' then matching with a std off-the-shelf unit. May be post the same Q? to the Facebook wheels on the left chaps as they've bound to have come across this before. After all, they're only Land Rover dampers...

No they are not.
The physical size differs, but the main difference is the length of the bottom stud.
I have had a recommendation for the TDCi rear units which I shall look into, as well as the Monroe D6629 from my own research, which is the same within a couple of mil and the bottom stud is the correct length.
I won't be carrying 300 kilos of radios, or ten men, so I can afford to drop the rating a little, but I don't want to alter the stance of the vehicle.

So a good chat with the other Wolfie owners would be the way forward. The dampers shouldn't change the stance/ride height, that'll be controlled by the springs as long as the new damper body is of similar length. I wouldn't worry about lower stud length as long as there's plenty through the mounting hole [unlike the fronts ]. Good luck with search on this and definitely worth posting outcome for others in the future.

So how did you get on? Were the dampers uprated when Wolf was uprated to carry Bowman radios or was it just the springs that were changed? I can find nothing in the AESP mods & instructions that refer to this upgrade. Will RPD500990 be long enough for Bowman rated upgrades?

There's nothing there because, howsoever unbelievably, the FFR and GS vehicles had the same suspension, so GS drivers had a rough ride.

After doing a comparison based on dimensions and load ratings, I chose the Monroe D6629 from Autodoc in Germany.

Just be aware that they take a while to arrive, but I found the prices reasonable (£94.34, shipped) and the technical support great.
HTH.

Thanks for coming back, I needed to get replacements sorted soonish. I've ordered RPD500990 from Blanchards as that is in the latest parts list. I see in an early parts list quoted as STC3087.
When I got mine off & rubbed with a wire brush I read Rover ANR3538 made in Spain, but can find very little on those.
