hi,
I have been geting vibrations and wobble through my steering wheel for a while and has got progressively worse recently. To start with i put it down to the amount of mud dryed to my wheels, but after a good clean im still geting it.

Yesterday when i drove on a nice smooth road i managed 80mph with hardly any wobble and just a little vibration.
But today i was driving on some rougher roads and once i got over about 50 it felt like the steering wheel was gona rip my hands off.

The front wheels were ballanced about 5 months ago, and i have recently replaced the steering damper, and i cant find any play in the track rods. my steering box has been leaking for a while but the fluid level takes a while to drop so i just make sure i keep it topped up.

any suggestions would be much appreciated , thanks.

Wheel bearings

Or possibly prop u/j's

Ok, the fault diagnoses section in my workshop manual suggests the following (including ones you've looked at)

unbalanced wheel or tyre
damaged wheel or tyre
faulty steering damper
loose hub bearings
worn swivel bearings
incorrect wheel alignment (tracking)
incorrect tyre pressures

i know i had the same on my back wheel recently. turned out there was side to side play in it so i got some new bearings. when i got the wheel hub off, i found that my hub nuts were finger tight!! Sorted now, and the bearings were fine, miraculously! :)
